I am a single mum, I work in my city addressing health inequalities & promotion with various Communities in the Voluntary Sector. I have had several roles: Carers Voice Representative, Research Associate for Sheffield University (PICAP), an Expert Patient Programme (EPP) Tutor for the carers course Looking After Me (DoH/PCT/CIC), Chairs of a Patient Council & Self Care for my city, a member of the MH LIT (Mental Health Local Implementation Team) Carers Sub Group. I was a member of the 18 week Group, presenting to GPs & Community Groups across my city, raising awareness. I have represented my city as a Patient Carer Representative, visiting the DoH, local GPs & offering feedback comments in consultations & new initiatives. I am a Health Trainer Champion and offer Information, Advice & Signposting Services. I am currently studying Caring with Confidence (DoH / nec), looking at becoming a Trustee and hoping to study for a Working In Community Organisation (WICO) qualification soon via the Trust for Developing Communities. As you can see I keep busy!
